About Us

Founded in 1998 by Mrs. Pushpa Bajaj, SHUBHAM is more than an organization — it’s a movement. Inspired by Sri Sri Thakur Anukul Chandra Ji’s belief that “true change begins within,” we’ve spent over two decades helping people transform their lives from the inside out.

Our Four Pillars of Change

Inner Revolution

Building character through education, ethics, and responsible living.

Zero-Waste Mission (with Government of Meghalaya)

Partnering with the government to empower rural women through our Fresh Pad Program — reusable sanitary pads that promote hygiene and reduce waste.

Digital Inclusion (with AT&T Technology Institute)

Teaching social media and digital skills to children with disabilities, helping them build confidence and independence.

Rural Women Empowerment (with National Jute Board)

Training women in the North-East to earn livelihoods and achieve financial freedom.

Our Current Mission: 1,000 Zero-Waste Ambassadors (Meghalaya)

We’re training 1,000 local women and youth across Meghalaya to become champions of sustainable living in their communities.

What We Do

  • Train women in reusable pad-making and sustainable practices.
  • Teach composting, recycling, and waste reduction.
  • Run campaigns on clean living and plastic-free habits.

Our Goals

  • Train 1,000 ambassadors who each reach 50+ homes or schools.
  • Cut community waste by 50%.
  • Create jobs and leadership opportunities for women.

Why This Matters

Because we don’t believe in handouts — we believe in empowerment. When a woman rises, her family rises. Her community rises. And so does the future.

President’s Message

Dear Friends,

Our hearts overflow with pride and gratitude as we reflect upon the remarkable journey of Shubham Charitable & Welfare Association.
What began in 1998 as a small yet powerful vision has today grown into a nationwide movement rooted deeply in compassion, dignity, and transformation.

At the very heart of our mission lies the empowerment of rural women, the upliftment of every child, and the preservation of our environment and water resources.
We firmly believe that true development begins at the grassroots—
where a mother gains the confidence to earn with dignity,
where a child learns to dream beyond limitations,
and where every drop of water is treated as sacred.

From the hills of Meghalaya to the far-reaching landscapes of India, Shubham has worked tirelessly to bring light where there was darkness—
through skill development, sustainable livelihood initiatives, menstrual health awareness, value-based education, eco-friendly solutions, and access to safe water and sanitation.
Each project we undertake is not merely a program but a promise—a promise to build a just, equitable, and green future for generations to come.

This journey would not have been possible without you—our supporters, partners, and on-ground warriors.
Your faith, dedication, and compassion breathe life into every initiative of Shubham.
Together, we are not only changing lives—we are shaping a movement of empowered women, nurtured children, and environmentally conscious communities.

As we move forward, let us dream even bigger.
Let us ensure that no woman is left behind, no child is silenced by poverty, and no river runs dry because of our neglect.
With unity, vision, and heartfelt service, we will continue to rise—not for ourselves, but for the better world we wish to leave behind.

With deep gratitude and unwavering commitment,

Pushpa Bajaj
